Microsoft has released a security update on January 3 that mitigates security issue in several modern CPUs. This update comes with new requirements that might break compatibility with specialized applications such as security products.
As per Microsoft’s requirements, security vendors are required to validate compatibility with the new update before accepting it for installation. Here at Bitdefender we take security seriously and we are now in the process of running extensive compatibility tests with all supported operating systems.
As soon as we validate the January 3 security fix against all our supported products, we will deliver an automatic update that enables the installation of the fix.

Users running Bitdefender Antivirus 2017, Bitdefender Internet Security 2017 or Bitdefender Total Security 2017 have been automatically migrated to the corresponding Bitdefender 2018 product which automatically unlocks the January 3 Windows Updates.
